1. Detachable Gooseneck: The front section of the trailer (the gooseneck) is not fixed. It can be:

   • Unhitched from the tractor.
   • Hydraulically lowered so its rear end rests on the ground, forming a ramp.
   • Slid backwards or forwards on the main deck (on many models) to adjust the ramp angle and deck length.

2. Low, Flat, Continuous Deck: Once the gooseneck is detached and the load is on, the main deck offers a long, unobstructed, and very low loading surface. There is no permanent hump or fixed neck.

3. Hydraulic System: Powers the detachment/lifting of the gooseneck and often the sliding function. Many models also have hydraulic flip-up ramps or extension ramps at the rear.

   • Ground-Level Loading: You can drive, winch, or crane equipment directly onto the deck from ground level. There’s no need for expensive loading docks or ramps.
   • Load from the Front or Rear: You can drive on from the front over the gooseneck, or from the rear over the ramps. This is invaluable on congested job sites.

2. Extremely Low Deck Height:

   • With the gooseneck attached in travel position, the deck is very low to the ground, maximizing vertical clearance for tall loads (excavators, transformers, machinery).

   • Designed for severe-duty applications, with common capacities ranging from 40 to 120+ tons. Multi-axle configurations (3 to 9+ axles) distribute the load.

   • Perfect for equipment with low ground clearance (crawler dozers, asphalt pavers) that cannot climb a steep fixed ramp.
